Do you think there's money to be made in investing in art?
Yes, I do think there's money to be made in investing in art. The first thing you have to understand is that "investing" is a loose term. If you have an artist who you think has a lot of potential, you may be able to sell your original piece at a higher price than what you bought it for—but this isn't necessarily investing.

You're still buying and selling the same piece of art, which means that if the artist doesn't go anywhere, your investment will be minimal (or even nonexistent). But if you're talking about investing in an artist's career as a whole? That's a different story. If you buy an original piece from someone who has just started out and then they go on to become famous and sell their work for millions of dollars? You can make an insane amount of money off that investment!

In real life situations, the best way to invest in art is by buying pieces from artists who are starting out but have shown potential for greatness. Then if they go on to be successful, you'll be able to sell those pieces at a much higher price than what you paid for them—and that would definitely be considered "making money."
