For me, it is all about trust. If you don't trust that your investment manager will make sound investments on your behalf and do so ethically, then why would you want to work with them? A good advisor will always have your best interests in mind and be willing to share their point of view with you, even if it's not what they've always been taught or expected.

This applies to everything from your day-to-day finances to long-term planning for retirement—you need someone who will listen to what you want and help make it happen, no matter how unconventional their approach might be.

I agree with @Kevin_mat, the most important factor to consider when choosing an investment manager is whether or not they are trustworthy.

This is because you are entrusting them with your money, and you need to know that they will be able to see the big picture and make decisions based on what's best for you and your retirement fund.

A good investment manager will have access to all the resources they need, including a team of experts who can help them make sound decisions. They should also be able to explain why they made those decisions in language that's easy to understand, so you can be confident that they're looking out for your best interests.
